Texel’s inaugural sustainable insurance report

Today we are pleased to launch our inaugural sustainable insurance report.

The United Nations (UN) 2024 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) report revealed that only 17% of SDG targets are on track to be achieved, and progress on over a third has stalled or even regressed. The impact we have on the environment, society and the world we operate in is something we at Texel are cognisant of. We believe that businesses have a responsibility to raise awareness of those issues to try and drive change.

We wanted to explore how sustainable the portfolio of business that we place for our development finance institution clients is, so analysed their insurance policies bound in 2023 against the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We want to use this data to raise awareness about the powerful role insurance plays in the future of our population and planet, and highlight the brilliant work clients are doing to help deliver on the SDGs.
